John Morgan Newsletter – S P A C E S

BLAME

Recently, I have been doing a lot of transformational work with the concept of BLAME. What I have found personally, and with clients, is that making something someone’s or something’s fault is a global pastime – meaning everyone is doing it and everyone is suffering. When we BLAME, we are putting our focus of energy on whom or what is at fault. The glaring problem with that strategy is that no energy gets focused on the solution. BLAME keeps us stuck where we happen to be.

It just seems so normal to BLAME. We learn it at a very early age and it becomes as natural as breathing to us. The purpose of the technique I will offer you in this newsletter is to outgrow the pattern of BLAMING and grow into a new pattern that allows you to focus on solutions vs. causes.

This is no way is requesting that you give up the concept of responsibility. Who or what’s responsible is a fact; who or what’s to blame is an illusion that keeps us mired in mud. Your blame or scorn directed at a good person is a waste of time because they will already feel the blame themselves. Your blame directed at a bad person won’t matter because they’ll never accept it no matter how many facts you propose.

My purpose is for you to RELEASE THE BLAME so that you have an opportunity to get out of the rut you are stuck in. That rut may be obesity, being overweight, being depressed, smoking your lungs out, sleeplessness, hopelessness, being unconfident, or owning a mindset that makes you much older than your years. This is by no means an all inclusive list. I’ve discovered that BLAME is the main roadblock in keeping you from getting where you are going.

RELEASE THE BLAME

For instance, you can use this exercise to augment your weight loss regime. BLAME is the reason most people have trouble losing weight long term. BLAME keeps them running the same eating and drinking patterns that have caused their weight gain in the first place. BLAME keeps people from staying with dietary changes or exercise routines. BLAME is universal and if you haven’t noticed, there is a universal weight epidemic. BLAME will cause your next diet to fail. BLAME will keep your weight in place in spite of your best efforts.

BLAME is making your weight someone’s fault – usually, we point that finger at ourselves. But there are plenty of other people or situations we BLAME. It may be your spouse, your parents, your job, your divorce, your depression, your wacky sister or someone or something else at whom or which you keep pointing the finger of BLAME.

BLAME is a waste of time that keeps you focused on the problem rather than on the solution.

Here is a magical exercise that will help you RELEASE THE BLAME. Repeat this exercise at least once per day for about 3 weeks and watch how much lighter you get – both mentally and physically. Once you get past the silliness you may feel doing this exercise, you will begin to reap gains that turn into losses – Loss of Weight and Loss of BLAME.

RELEASE THE BLAME Exercise

1. Decide whose fault it is that you are carrying around more weight than you want. (You can use this exercise for any other condition you find yourself struggling with).

2. Take a deep breath and blow all of that BLAME into a balloon. It may take 3 or 4 breaths to fill your balloon with BLAME.

3. Hold all that BLAME in the balloon for a count of three. When you get to three, let go of the balloon and RELEASE ALL THE BLAME.

I would never have you do anything I wouldn’t do myself. I can tell you from personal and professional experience that this exercise, when repeated over a few weeks time, will transform your concept of blame and get you out of your rut.

Please drop me an email after 3 weeks of doing this exercise and let me know how well it works for you. john-morgan@cox.net

Remember this: If life is a game, you don’t get to play if you hold on to the blame.
